The School Board Office team and I would like to thank Lisa Stevens and Dr. Calveric for organizing our leadership team’s 2019 summer field trips to the Port Royal School & Museum, the Caroline Fair, and MC Dean. A lot of us on the SBO team are “Come Heres” and it was so engaging and educating to get see and learn about the community in which we serve. The central office team embarked on three summer field trips in the Caroline community: The Port Royal School and Museum, The Caroline Fair, and the final stop, M.C. Dean. In the pictures above Mrs. Cleo Coleman taught us about the day and life of a Caroline student “Back in the Day” and now all CCPS 4th graders will have that same experience through our partnership with the Port Royal School team.
Geoffrey Honan and the team at the Caroline Fair educated and motivated the students of CCPS with a behind-the-scenes look at how the fair works and it’s importance to the history of Caroline County.
Our final stop at MC Dean brought tears to our eyes to see some of our current and former Cavaliers on the job while leading teams of workers in the field of electrical engineering. This phenomenal business partner is helping our CHS students with 3E readiness (enlisted, employed, and enrolled) through their “apprenticeship to employment” program. Last year, Caroline High School had 12 graduates receive an MC Dean contract. This year CHS will have 20 student participants during the 19-20 school year. We cannot wait to see our young women and men cross the 2020 graduation stage and be greeted on the other side with an MC Dean job offer!
